Prof. Chate was addressing students from Classes VII to XII during a guidance programme on Discipline, Values and Education, organised at Chate School, Satara Road, Pune. He encouraged students to look up to their parents and teachers as role models and to lead their lives with discipline, strong values, dedication, and a commitment to learning.
He emphasised that the foundation of education begins at home, making the role of parents in instilling good values and guiding children particularly important. He also encouraged students to communicate openly with their parents and teachers, sharing their thoughts, concerns, and experiences without hesitation. Such open communication, he noted, helps build confidence, strengthen relationships, and support the overall development of students.

Expressing concern over the excessive use of social media and mobile phones, Prof. Chate highlighted the need for parents to monitor their children’s digital habits. Unrestricted mobile phone usage can distract students from their studies and adversely affect their discipline, concentration, and value-based upbringing.
He stressed the importance of encouraging students to develop healthy digital habits and rediscover the joy of reading books. The balanced use of technology, combined with traditional learning practices and strong moral values, is essential for the all-round development of young minds.
